Successful Application 2: ShengMei Chilled-water System

Dongguan ShengMei Plastics Machinery Co., LTD. was founded in 1977 with sales marketing more than 50 countries around the world. The headquarter, Taiwan JIMICON Plastics Machinery Co., LTD. specializes in manufacturing plastics bottle blowing machines with the world leading technology. Their major key products include blow molding bottle machine, PET one-step method of blowing bottle machine and full-automatic intra-mode labeler.

There was once a set of chilled-water system for the commissioning cooling of workshop blow bottle machine. Due to the enhancement of production capacity and the increasing number of commissioning, platform temperature was hard to be lowered. After investigation of actual situation and calculation of heat load, it was necessary to introduce a SIC-20W water chiller to lower the temperature. Besides, the previous pump with 2″ chilled water pipe has been replaced by a 3″ one with the high flow rate.

Later client changed their mind to replace chilled water pump only. Thus they chose a vertical high pressure pump with the high flow rate, which is capable of speeding up conveying rate of cooled water in the pipe. However, the problem of rusting would become serious as a result of too fast rate of water flow and probability of pipe breakage. Therefore, clients were usually suggested paying attention to water quality and daily maintenance.

Newly-added system could meet the requirements of concurrent commissioning, but water flow situation can not work in accordance with planned program on account of 2″ pipe has not been replaced. This fact was also accepted by client and they were relatively contented with the system modification.
