Introduction to SGB Vertical Cone-dosing

Share to:

It has been almost six years since Shini succeeded in launching SGB series. And these years also witnessed the radical change of metering valve, the core part of gravimetric blenders and the upcoming launch of new SGB series.

Vertical Cone-dosing

As to control SGB metering accuracy, few parts are as important as metering valve. Stuck material should be avoided when SGB applicable on big granules. Metering valve works frequently with relatively much impact force, which needs to be reduced to prolong the lifespan of cylinders.

Features of SGB vertical cone-dosing:

Compared with knife gate valve, vertical cone-dosing features higher stability of material flow and higher stability of accuracy.

Vertical cone-dosing can eliminate stuck material when applicable on big granule and other sheets for the reason that vertical cone-dosing adopts vertical separate closing; gaps will broaden or dwindle as valve opens or closes so that tangential locking force would not be generated easily.

Material in the device has the buffer function during the closing of vertical cone-dosing, which reduces the impact force between moving and stationary parts of valve thus cylinder lifespan can be prolonged.

Working principle of vertical cone-dosing

Figure 1: Valve Close                                               Figure 2: Valve Open

See Figure 1, high pressure air enters cylinder through air inlet at the bottom end, and piston rod is pushed to drive valve moving downward. Valve does not close until it blocks discharge port completely. Figure 2 shows that high pressure air enters cylinder through air inlet at the top end, and piston rod is pushed to drive valve moving upward. Valve is separated from discharge port and closes, which allows material to drop down. SGB series controls the material amount by controlling the period of opening and closing of valve.
