In plastic injection molding and extrusion, problems of plastic products, such as bubbles, crazes, cracks, flow marks, bad transparency, often exist in the process. And the defective products can be attributed to that the raw material has not been fully dried before molding to a certain extent. As we know, when large amounts of moisture remain in the raw material, it will become vapor at the high temperature and be interference.

It is demonstrated that until the ambient air used for drying raw material reaches below -40℃ dew-point and is heated to a certain temperature, the moisture content of raw material can be reduced to below 0.02% to ensure better molding performance. But the conventional desiccant dryer has to take more time to reduce moisture to comparable levels. Here, we introduce our Honeycomb Dehumidifier to you. This product range promises to replace conventional applied in the engineering plastics drying process, such as PA, PC, PBT, PET, etc. Tests show that this machine car produce dry air of below for the molding process. dried material. And with the air, we can achieve complete -40℃ dew-point.

Honeycomb Dehumidifier carries out absorption and regeneration simultaneously. The machine working process is showing in the figure 1 below, honeycomb is divided into three sections, Includingdehumidifying section, regenerating section, and cooling section. When it works, the rotor turns slowly in a counter-clockwise direction, moving each segment of the honeycomb through the three stages.

At first, wet air is forced through dehumidifying section, where the moisture in the air is absorbed by the desiccant and the air becomes dry air with low dew-point. After heated, the air is circulated back to the drying hopper to dry the plastic material. Secondly, when the dehumidifying section rotates to the regenerating area, the moisture absorbed by the desiccant is removed by the hot air from the regenerative blower. And then some of the air from the cooling coil is forced through cooling section to prepare the desiccant to absorb moisture when it rotates to the dehumidifying section. The temperature controlling system adopts P.I.D. control, which monitors the regenerative temperature with high precision.

Honeycomb is made of silicon material, and its regenerative temperature is 150℃ while mole- cular sieves is 200℃. Comparing to molecular sieve, the energy consumption of Honeycomb Dehumidifier is low, reducing almost 40%. Dehumidification system contains two coolers, maintaining much lower returning air temperature and dew-point. Also, regenerative filter is included to achieve free-pollution of plastic material. Whats more, our engineer can assist you to select some options according to your production condition, such as heat-resistance pipe, cyclone dust-collection andhuman-machine interface (HMI) with PLC control and LCD touch screen. With these options, you can monitor the dew point temperature in time, central operation with automatic operations.

Furthermore, the structure of horizontally positioned single honeycomb of SD-1500H and above model are more compact and reasonable than that of vertically positioned one. Less friction force can prolong the life span of honeycombs and decrease themaintaining times, which can lower related cost greatly.
