Frequency Conversion Control Technology of Industrial Water Chiller

Energy is the material foundation of human society. Throughout the history of human society development, every step of human civilization is along with the improvement and replacement of energy resources. Over the past 100 years, developed countries completed industrialization during which they consumed an enormous quantity of natural resources, especially energy resources. At present, some developing countries are stepping into the stage of industrialization, increase of energy consumption is the economic and social development is objective and inevitable.

 

In plastic auxiliary industry, such problems may occur when choosing water chillers: on the one hand accurate information can not provide due to some customers’ unfamiliarity on their equipment; on the other hand, required parameters can be difficultly provided by the customers due to bad communication with the business personnel; moreover, the refrigerating capacity changes a lot because of the different regional environment, chiller refrigerating capacity is bigger in the northern part than the south and also bigger in winter than summer. Therefore, it is difficult to accurately select the appropriate water chiller. Resulting in water chiller type selection, bigger ones are more popular.

 

What are the consequences? Obviously, bigger selection requires more initial cost and frequent start- and-stop which may lead to higher daily operating costs and a lot of customers will feel the loss outweighs the gain. However, if they choose the smaller ones, there requirements cannot be reached. How to establish business relation profitable to both the customers and the factories? SIIC-A series is a new product developed by Shini under the target of energy-saving and environmental protection. It is committed to improve the operation cost of the enterprise. SIIC-36A-R2 can contain 12~36kW load within which it can not only control the temperature accurately to within ±0.1°C, but also to realize economic operation and reduce customer operating costs. Through the precise temperature control, the products molding condition and equipment operation condition are more stable, and also the frequent start-and-stops of the compressor are avoidable, which are all beneficial to improve the service life of the equipment.

 

 

Compared with the frequency-fixed water chiller, frequency conversion water chiller has the following advantages:

 

1. The soft start function of frequency conversion water chiller has no impulse current which can avoid damage caused by large power equipment in the starting impulse current. It can be more energy-saving for the starting current of frequency-fixed water chiller is several times as much as the rated current. At the same time, due to frequency-fixed water chiller can not automatically match the external load; the refrigeration and load amplitude balance can only be achieved by starting and stopping the compressor, especially in the low load, the more starting and stopping times, the more electric will be wasted.

 

2. The chiller starts with low frequency, during the runtime, firstly it works with high frequency to cooling the process water until it reaches the set temperature, then it changes to low frequency without stopping. Sustained low frequency operation after reach the set temperature saves 2/3 of rated power.

 

3. Energy efficiency ratio is 2.8, compared with 2.4 of the common one; the frequency reversion water chiller every hour can save 2.15 degrees of electricity to the highest. In case of 261 days a year and 8 hours a day to operate, it can save 4489 degrees of electricity.
The following table can analyze why the SIIC-A frequency conversion air-cooled water chiller is energy-saving.

 

 

From the above table we can see that power saving number can reach 2.5 degrees per hour. The benefit can be more obvious especially at low load time. In case of 261 working days per year 8 hours per day computation, power saving can reach 261×8×2.5 = 5,220 degrees, one can see the SIIC energy saving effect is obvious.

 

Reasonable use electricity, save the electricity consumption, governments have committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, has been stand firm to achieve or even exceeding the target.
