Share to:

There is a triangle mark with an arrow on the bottom of plastic bottle and one number inside mark, which indicates the composition of bottle and its effect on human body.

1—PET polyethylene glycol terephthalate

Commonly seen in water bottles and carbonated drinks bottles. Bottle is easy to deform when temperature rises to 70℃ and it will release substance harmful to humans. After 10 months bottle used, No.1 plastic will be likely to release a carcinogen called DEHP. This kind of bottle can not be exposed in the sun and used to contain oil or wine.

2—HDPE highdensity polyethylene

Commonly seen in white medicine bottle, cleaning products and bath products. It is also can not used to contain water or other materials.

3—PVC polyvinyl chloride

Commonly seen in raincoat, building material, plastic membrane and plastic box. It is very popular in use due to the excellent plasticity and lower costs. The highest heat-resisting point is at 81℃ when PVC will release harmful substance to humans. It is rarely used in food packing because it is difficult to clean and easy to remain.

4—PE polyethylene

Commonly seen in plastic warp and plastic membrane. High temperature will induce it releasing harmful substance, which may get into human body along with food and cause breast cancers and newborn birth defects.

5—PP polypropylene

Commonly seen in soya-bean milk bottle, buttermilk bottle and microwave oven dinner box. Melting point is up to 167℃, which allows it to put into microwave oven. It is recyclable for use after cleaning while take notice that some of boxes have a No.5 PP material body and a No.1 PET material cover. PET is not heat resistant so the cover can not be put into oven with body.

6—PS polystyrene

Commonly seen in bowl-shape instant noodle box and fast food box. It can not be put into microwave oven in case high temperature induces harmful substance. Avoid to use fast food box to contain hot food and to use oven to cook instant noodle in bowl-shape box.

7—PC others

Commonly seen in kettle, space cup and feeding bottle. In department store there are many give-away bottles made of PC. But these products easily release toxic bisphenol A, which is harmful to humans. Keep in mind that never heating PC bottle and never expose them to the sun.
