How to Make Hot Runner Fully Used

Hot runner has been indispensable in injection molding. For plastics processors, to choose a proper hot runner for molding and master its correct use are critical to benefit from hot runner.

 

 

Hot runner, which can cure the solidified outlet into a molten state, has a simple structure which consists of manifolds, nozzles, temperature controller, etc. Among the components, the manifolds can be divided into H-type, X-type, Y-type, T-type, I-type, and other special types according to the shape; nozzles can be divided into large outlet nozzle, sharp nozzle and valve nozzle; temperature controllers can be divided into chip type, card type and computer centralized control type.

 

 

In injection molding process, hot runner mold coordinate with the mold and play a very important role. For example, in the production of ultra-thin piece of plastic (such as mobile phone battery cover), by using hot runner high-precision and high-quality products can be easily produced. For materials with liquidity shortage (such as LCP), with the help of hot runner, a smooth production can be ensured. For some large injection molded parts, such as car bumpers, door panels, TV rear covers, air conditioner housing, etc., hot runner can make the injection molding much easier than it should be.

 

A multi-cavity injection mold can not shape without hot runner. It can be said that hot runner is the best technology right now to ensure the balance of runner. Because there hangs shear force when plastic flows in the runner, the products can not be the same weight regardless of the mold with a more reasonable balance geometrically. Especially for multi-cavity mold, without hot runner the outside part of its products will be lighter the inside part.

 

For plastics processors, as long as there is a certain volume of injection molding, hot runner is very economical. For hot runner injection molding produce little degraded material which in most cases can not be reused. Sometimes, the degraded materials and the products can be the same weight, the traditional way of injection may cause a waste of raw materials as much as the products used. It can be presumed that hot runner can help to save 30% to 50% of the raw materials. In addition, hot runner mold also help to reduce attrition and increase the service life of the mold. Usually the life of a hot runner mold is 2 times as long as the edge gate mold.

 

Although the composition of hot runner is relatively simple, each component plays a very important role. Typically, the structure of a good hot runner needs perfect structure design and high quality material. When installing, you need to note the following:


● Full inspection of hot runner, including all dimensions, resistances and volumes;
● Check all the size of relevant parts of the mold and hot runner
● Before installing the front fixed plate, detect hot runner first;
● Before producing, hot runner must be terminated with a multimeter;
● Air shot before assembly, when air shooting, cover the B-plate mold with a cardboard.
