Shini Gravimetric Blender SGB Successfully Applied in Artificial Turf Industry

Aplastics industry limited company located in Changzhou is engaged in artificial turf production. It has multiple production lines, and the turfs are mainly used for football field and green environment, which are sold all over the world.  

In 2015, the company introduced 8 sets of Shini Gravimetric Blenders for the weighing and mixing of virgin materials, masterbatches, additives and regrind materials (palletizing regrind granules). The first step of artificial turf production is fiber drawing. During the process, it has very strict requirement of color aberration, so the Gravimetric Blender should meet the high standard. To reach the turf production requirements, the Gravimetric Blender needs to fulfill following functions:
 
1.The Gravimetric Blender must keep the stability in the operation. There shouldn’t have malfunction or other suspension in the process which may lead to extruder out of material. Once there’s material cut off, the customer needs to re-start the fiber drawing, it would cause much waste of the materials; or materials and masterbatches get into the extruder without blending may result in color aberration. Only it guarantees the steady operation of the Gravimetric Blender that can ensure the products free from color aberration. 

2.The Gravimetric Blender is essential to have accurate proportional function for material and masterbatch. The artificial turfs are mainly in green, either a very little of masterbatch aberration in fiber-drawing or after them had made into the turf would lead to the color aberration. Therefore, the requirement of Gravimetric Blender proportional accuracy is in high level. 

3.For Gravimetric Blender, the blending has to reach the perfect evenness. In the process of turf fiber drawing, whether it is artificial blending or machine blending, there’s no second feeding action. The second feeding or uneven blending of material would easily cause uneven mixture of material and masterbatch, which leading to product’s aberration. For this reason, the Gravimetric Blender must ensure the even blending of material and masterbatch in the process. 

4.The weight of each Gravimetric Blender should be consistency with other blenders, to ensure the fibers drawn by all sets of machines are in the same color.
