Self-producing of Test-platform for Heaters

Causes for Planning

For a long time, our test department has to perform tests in the mass production area for heaters of Quality Assurance due to the restricted area and lack of relative equipments. On one hand the routines of QA department was hindered by our tests. On the other hand, the arrangements of our department became passive and inflexible because sometimes the on-going researches are often forced to suspend because of mass production.

Design, Planning and Execution

Due to the eagerness to build an exclusive” Test Platform, we resolutely apply to supreme supervisor for broadening the working. Later we got approval to begin the establishment of Test Platform. Firstly, according to actual situations, we conducted the investigation to define the structure, size and function of Test Platform. With precious experiences from QA department, we know that this kind of platform should be built both for mold temperature controller and dehumidifying machine. Secondly, we get a list for the necessary parts based on investigation such as cooling tower, type of centrifugal pump, size and material of plug, thickness of sheet metal parts, specification of switches, power circuit, specification of ampere, etc. What is more, we integrate various functional parts together and we realize that this is a cooperative work with multi-departments. Due to lack of industrious water-proof plug and switch, we request purchasing department to buy what we need. Likewise, workmates of Electrical Affairs help us with completing the layout of power and water supply. Staff from QA department guides us to design the internal electric circuit of test platform. We also have a backstage hero: Section Chief Yang, for his outstanding skills to connect different departments during building the Test Platform.

Chasing Excellence and Improvement

We invite supervisors of PD again for their suggestions to the newly completed test platform. They give us three precious points of view: Chris Chang indicates that ampere mater should be carefully examined even if coming from store; there should be electric circuit on the platform in case of repair; Director Yang mentions that functional groups and water in/outlet should be tapped with labels like numbers; the head of Heating and Cooling, Drying and Dehumidifying points out that there should be indicators of water temperature and pressure in water supply. Fortunately, all of three problems above get resolved.

Achievement and Conclusion

The building and the application of test platform undoubtedly end the days bothering QA department. Compared with previous tests, the test arrangements nowadays for sample have become more flexible and unrestrained so that we could perform sample tests at will according to actual situations. Additionally, the favorable resources could be employed effectively and test process could be free of mass production. In this way, the whole working efficiency keeps on the rise continuously.

We make a conclusion after this issue that is we may encounter any problems without precaution during working. To solve them, we should come up with an approach that could eliminate crucial puzzle. The optimal conditions may not be available in a short time. However, once we get the opportunity, reactions should be made immediately. As one of members in the team, we should remember that both teamwork and our contribution are the key points to fulfill tasks. And we also need the excellent leadership and supports of supervisors. Nobody can boast to be a perfect man. We believe that being open-minded will be surely of vitally significance to the future improvement!
